Eleanor Cooper Brown, the Cathedral Choir Director
Central United Methodist Church is proud to receive Eleanor Cooper Brown as the new Director for the Cathedral Choir.
Ms. Brown has extensive Music Ministry experience having served in several denominations including the UM, AME, and CME churches, as pianist, organist, and church and music director. She has facilitated choir workshops, spiritual retreats, Bible studies, and worship planning with her local church. Ms. Brown serves as a volunteer member of the Lay Revitalization Ministry for the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.
As a native of Moncks Corner, SC, Ms. Brown was educated at South Carolina University where she was a member of the Collegiate Corale. She is a songwriter and author of From Preparation to Passion, a series of devotions, reflections and meditations celebrating the Lenten season. She is a tenured musician and vocalist, and an ardent lover of African-American hymnody and spirituals. She deeply loves the beauuty sacred music brings to the heart of worship.
